N.T.St. Fathima Illam in Cuddalore N.T. has a rich history rooted in its commitment to education and community service. In 1986, the Sisters of St. Aloysius Gonzaga from Puducherry came to Pudupalayam, Beach Road, located in Cuddalore, to establish a community dedicated to the service of the local population. These sisters became deeply involved in the teaching ministry, particularly within the D.O.S. Schools, where they played a crucial role in shaping the educational landscape.T he community's establishment was marked by the leadership of Rev. Sr. Barbara Mary, the Superior General at the time, who guided the initial steps of the community’s foundation. St. Fathima Illam was officially established on 15th July 1982, with the goal of serving the educational needs of the region and nurturing the spiritual and intellectual growth of its students.The first members of the community included Sr. Snabaga Mary, Sr. Vincent Josephine Mary, and Sr. A.S. Lourdu Mary, who worked tirelessly to create a strong foundation for the community's mission. They dedicated their efforts to the well-being and education of the children in Cuddalore, making a lasting impact on the local society.In 2019, the community building underwent a major renovation, overseen by Rev. Sr. G. Rajamani, the Superior General at that time. The renovation served to modernize the infrastructure and better accommodate the needs of the growing community.Today, the community continues its focus on the teaching ministry, serving the educational needs of children in the region, and ensuring that the mission of St. Fathima Illam remains a beacon of hope and knowledge for the people of Cuddalore N.T.
